I am a huge fan of the Bring Your Own Hammer series and I’m thrilled to present this brand new song as part of their Music and History series.

‘Hesperus’ is inspired by three poems by the Irish poet Ella Young (1867–1956). She was a prominent figure in both the Irish cultural revival and in republican movements of the early twentieth century.
