Happy New Year!

Although we’re 1/12 of the way thorough it already! January has been a month of reflection and planning. Watch out over the coming while for a brand new single, live shows (including some overseas), more collaborative work with Long Woman’s Grave and the return of the First Tuesdays livestream.

What a brilliant year 2022 was – thank you so much to everyone who made it happen!

We got the new album out, and were absolutely delighted with the response. RTE Radio 1 made it Album of the Week, and the response from national, regional and internet stations was incredible. Press reviews were fantastic too. Thanks again to everyone on the team who worked so hard to make it happen, and to our supporters in the media for being so absolutely lovely.

Long Woman’s Grave, my collaboration with Nuala Kennedy and Trevor Hutchinson, made its live debut thanks to the kind folks at Droichead Arts Centre.

I got to perform with some amazing artists this year, and in the summer we launched Droichead Arts Centre’s Lighthouse Project (curated by Dani Gill), which contains two brand new songs as well as gorgeous new work by Roisin Ward Morrow, Jackie Hudson Lalor, Jacinta Sheeran and Jess Traynor. Listen below (but preferably while strolling on Mornington Strand!)

We also launched my show, PORT (which we are delighted to say will be touring Ireland later in the year), and a clutch of shows in November and December (with John Spillane, Sean Mathews and Seanie Vaughan) brought the year to a terrific close.

Maybe best of all was Our Lady’s College’s gorgeous Christmas show, which saw the debut of yet another brand new song that I was able to perform with the school’s amazing choir and the great Donal Lunny.

Some highlights of the year photographed below – thanks to Brian Connolly at BangBang Visual and to Marco Francesangeli for the great shots from the Sugar Club.

See you soon!
